About Me
Hey! My name is Michael.
I'm a frontend developer based in Cologne, Germany. I love Jesus, I love my family, and I love to build websites. Here are some other things I love.
I love Javascript.
I created this page to serve as an online portfolio and also just because every web developer has to have their own site. So far, I have made three copies of this site: React/Next, Vue/Nuxt, and Svelte/SvelteKit. You're looking at the Svelte version. Don't tell the other frameworks, but Svelte is probably my favorite.
I love (S)CSS.
I do, I love it. I love how sneaky-powerful it is. To me, it's the perfect
intersection between programming and art (which I also love, see below).
Something magical happens to a being that is writing CSS. As soon as a file
with the .css
extension is opened, the two sides of the human brain
are unleashed to intertwine in a beautiful, ethereal dance that transcends the
corruption and crude barriers that the world has placed between them. Now restricted
by nothing other than semicolons, this mind is finally free to explore the frontiers
of its own potential. Between the curly braces, this mind recognizes no more
"boundaries". No more "failure". There is only CSS.
I love basketball.
I grew up playing basketball, but that doesn't mean I'm any good at it. It's just my favorite way to get some exercise.
I love to draw.
Again, I'm not claiming to be any good at it, but I like to draw, especially comics. Sometimes I have no energy or ideas to draw, but it's proven to be a nice release for me. Right now I'm also working on artwork for a card game.
